Ballawhetstone Stables Ltd (Ballawhetstone) is committed to protecting your personal information provided during the rider registration process. This data protection notice relates to our use of any personal information you provide to us.

In order to provide you with our services, we require information from you. This notice explains what information Ballawhetstone may collect about you, how the information is used, when we may contact you and your choices regarding personal information.

Whenever you provide such information, we are legally obliged to use your information in line with all laws concerning the protection of personal information, including the Data Protection Act 1998 (these laws are referred to collectively in this privacy notice as the “data protection laws”) and the new General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) which became enforceable in May 2018.

The GDPR states that personal data (information relating to a person that can be individually identified) can only be processed if there is a legal ground to do so. Activities like collecting, storing and using personal information falls into the GDPR’s definition of processing. The GDPR provides six legal grounds (reasons) under which personal information can be processed (used) in a way that is lawful. For the processing to be permitted by law (lawful), at least one of the legal grounds must apply.

Ballawhetstone will only process (use) your personal information as part of the Rider Registration Process. Ballawhetstone will not sell, publish or share information which you have given us that identifies you or any person.  That organisation uses your data only to keep in touch with you and advise you of any events/information they consider you would wish to know about.

All riders must complete a Rider Registration Form prior to their first session. Information collected includes contact information, next of kin, and riding competency.

You may request details of personal information which we hold about you. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please email us at

Ballawhetstone retains information supplied during the Rider Registration process for administration purposes. Contact information is used to issue reminders regarding session bookings and information such as next of kin and medical information in event of an emergency.

Ballawhetstone will keep your information confidential except where disclosure is required or permitted by law (for example to government bodies and law enforcement agencies). Personal information is held on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant service.

Changes may be made from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This notice is effective from 23rd June 2020.

Bookings and Cancellation Policy

All bookings are to be made via the online booking page on website In the event of the need to cancel a lesson with less the 24 hours the managers discretion will be used if the payment can be carried over. All lessons and activities require payment in advance. Online payments will be accepted via Wirecard or bank transfer. The privacy notice for Wirecard can be viewed:
